Best Dirt?!?

Another tried & true TJ Newsletter technique, expressionist watercolour. Image is from Rare Image Rubber Stamps. A friend of mine enjoys being in her garden and she also works in a local greenhouse who, I know for certain, will enjoy getting this card. And seriusly, she knows where the best dirt is. Wish my thumbs are as green as hers :)

Until next time, may mojo live happily in your heart, and may passion bloom in your soul. Be well!

Regular Joe!

My lil' brother, Boong, left yesterday morning. And I was a, you called, basket case?!? 5 days, 6 hours and 38 minutes really weren't enough when your family is half a world away! But I am thankful that I had the time at all to spend with him and I am definitely grateful for my circle of friends who showed me support yesterday because they knew it would be a hard day for me! You know who you are and I thank YOU!

The card below is in honour of my lil' bro's profession. He has a coffee-related business, roasting the beans and supplying them and coffee machines to coffee shops around the country. He was here in the great state of Vermont for a certification in coffee cupping.

The technique used is Expressionistic Watercolours, a TJ Newsletter technique, December '04 issue. All stamps are by Stampin' Up! This set was retired a couple of years back. I added real coffee beans for embellishment and dimension.

Have a great Tuesday!

Christmas Thanks!

Now that all the Christmas pressies are opened and thoroughly enjoyed and played with (in Ty's own words), here's one of many thank you cards I'll be sending out in the next few days.

The technique used here is called Expressionistic Watercolours, a TJ technique, 12-'04 issue. It's very easy and give a very effective and desiring result! All stamps are by Stampin' Up! Another quickie for today!

Hope y'all have a great day!

So Grateful ...

Technique: Expressionist H2O Colour
Stamps: Stampin' Up!

Top 10 Things I'm grateful for ...
  1. A Father who sentenced His own Son so to guarantee my eternal future with Him. He does what I cannot do so I can be what I dare not dream: perfect before God. (Borrowed from Max Lucado's In the Grip of Grace).
  2. My loving and sorely missed family in Thailand, Mum, Big & Little Aunts, both my brothers, my SIL and my dearest nephew of all, Talent, in Nottingham, UK.
  3. My beloved husband, Dan, for putting up with me and my sillies for nearly ten years.
  4. My most loved and very dearest of all son, Ty, for all the obvious reasons :)
  5. My handful of special girlfriends who have special places in my heart for their friendship & their genuine interest in my life. Thanks, Girlfriends, for enriching my life so!
  6. My church family, for the support, counsel and simply a family away from home!
  7. My stamping friends, both locally and on-line. I do appreciate your input and letting me be a part of you.
  8. Rubber stamping, for being my creative outlet and letting me use my only God-given gift to the fullest! Surely, I'll say it again, it's cheaper than therapy! Dan can assure you that, no?
  9. Thai food and Steak are always a rare and special treat!
  10. Our cars, hard to believe, they are still running!
There are many more reasons I can be thankful for this Thanksgiving season. And I consider myself very blessed! Hope you'll find many things you can be thankful for today!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! May your day be safe and joyous.

Metallic Flakes & Acetate

This card is very pretty IRL. The background was done by running a sheet of acetate thru my Xyron machine and applying metallic flakes to the sticky side of the acetate. The image by Stampin' Up! was stamped on a piece of smooth white cardstock using Expressionistic Watercolours technique from TJ Newsletter - December '04. I did over-stamped the whole image once more with black ink to bring out the details a little more. I then adhered the image to a piece of microscope slide and finished off the edges of the slide with gold foil tape.

Thanks for stopping in!
