Celebrating Fathers!

A few things I did to celebrate my husband as a father. The first is stamped dominoes on a frame.

My husband, Dan, loves all things black & white...

...and all things zebras.

This paint can is filled to the brim with some of his favourite candies.

A card I posted before. A picture of Dan and my son is on a shaker card filled with miniature tools. Sentiment read, " A Father ~ fixer of bikes & toys, builder of forts & doll houses, mender of broken hearts."

My own Papa, a great man, my hero!

Thanks for stopping by on this blessed day. Until next time. Be well!

Journal Bucket

I made this Journal Bucket for my son's birthday a couple of years ago. Jen, at my local stamp club showed us the Journal Jar idea. My son loves to read and write even at a very young age. I thought it was a mighty fine idea to make one for him. My son was only 6 at the time and I didn't think a glass jar would go over well with him. So, I adapted it to a paint can and made it a Journal Bucket instead. There are lots of pictures in this post to show you the front and back side of the bucket and the journal itself. And other miscellaneous shots I think you might be interested. All stamps used are retired Stampin' Up! set called Southwest.

Here's the front.

Here's the other side of the bucket.

Description on how to use the journal bucket.

I added a few pens and some tape by hanging them with an electrical tie, so he would have everything at his finger tips.

Here's what the lid looks like.

And here are the strips of "prompts" or questions he can use to guide and write his thoughts.

My son is still writing in his journal off and on which is encouraging. It's also amazing to see how mature he has grown and how much his handwriting has changed in the past two years.

Hope you enjoy. Until next time, be well!

Friendship Frame

This is a domino frame. I used StazOn, Timber Brown ink pad to stamp the dominoes. Then mounted onto frame with E600 glue. Images are from Paperbag Studio, Stampin' Up!, Stampers Anonymous and Cat's Life Press. Hope you like!

Here's the close-up of the dominoes.

Until next time. Be well!

Birthday Box

Yesterday, I showed you my first scrap page ever. Today I'll show you my first altered anything ever. I did this box for a friend who is a lot younger but definitely very eccentric. The box was a papier-mâché box. I decoupaged on the box part with dictionary pages and the lid, buttons! I also added the green tassel for a pully. If you look close, you see faces peaking thru the glass bubbles. Those are faces of my gals from my Tuesday night Bible study group. It turned out pretty cool! What do you think?

Have a great week, y'all!

For Granddad

A little gift I made for my FIL, a dear dear man. Lots of distressed ink and manilla tags. I tried to keep it slightly on the masculine side. Lots of stamps were used for the sentiments.

And that's all, Folks! Thanks for stopping by!
