Pine Cones

This is Crayon Resist, a very simple and effective technique. I started out with a piece of glossy cardstock. Stamped images, by Stampin' Up!, with StazOn Jet Black ink. Let dry or you can use a heat gun if you don't have the patience. Then with a light coloured kids crayon, I scribbled in the areas I wanted to see as highlights for the images (you see here as white splotches). When I thought I had covered pretty much all the areas I needed, I started filling in colours using pastel chalk. The crayon would then resist the chalk. Once I got the look I was after, I used soft facial tissue and started rubbing off the crayon to display the highlights.

A little tip for this morning, often times, when I make cards with no particular occasion in mind, I would just leave the tags, if any, blank so I could fill in an appropriate sentiment at a later date. If and when I ever need a card real quick and don't have time to whip up a new design, I just stamp the needed sentiment in the blank tag. Ta da! A card ready to go!

Have a great Sunday, Y'all!

Love this card. I've enjoyed catching up on your blog today. You have lots of beautiful cards. Can't believe you've only been stamping for a few years, you're doing fantastic.
